Sunglasses, Scarves & Toasties at Rhosili

Whilst half of Wales nursed a Triple Crown hangover after yesterday's Six Nations win against England I decided to wrap up warm and take a trip down to Rhosili, Gower - something I'd been meaning to do for a little while.  The sun was shining and it was a crisp day - so sunglasses and scarf a must!

On entering the gateway to Gower it began to become a little overcast, but as I haven't been down the Gower for some time, the views still looked spectacular with the vast fields all around.

On arrival to Rhosili it seems quite a number of people had the same thoughts as us as it was nicely busy.

Before setting out on our walk we (my partner Stuart and I) head to the Bay Bistro - a business I'd been following some time on Facebook.  It was absolutely heaving in there - with some tables even reserved!  An obviously popular place.  Got served pretty quickly.  Now as many of you would know from reading my first blog entry, or my welcome page I'm far from being a food critic, so as you can imagine I ordered the classic Ham & Cheese toastie accompanied by a nice pot of tea!

Sitting outside was a great option as the views were amazing!  The sofas looked appealing inside, but I think I'll save that for a rainy day instead!  I'd highly recommend the Bay Bistro if popping down to Rhosili!

There were a few other coffee shops in Rhosili but I have to say this place was certainly the most popular - and of course, I was there because I'd been following them on Facebook and Twitter for so long too!

Popped into the National Trust shop before our walk - quaint little place which for tourists they must love it as it had loads of lovely welsh products.  I was particularly interested in the wool blankets for just £12!!!  I headed straight to the coffee machine!

Had a refreshing walk right down to the Coastguard's 'office' (not sure if that is what they call it).  Didn't want to go onto the causeway over to Worm's Head as I didn't have the appropriate footwear on - by this I actually meant I didn't have the energy - looked like it need a bit of concentration!!!

Through the National Trust Gower Facebook page I've heard they do guided walks over to Worm's Head so think I'll give that a whirl next time - or even take part in the Gower Walking Festival in June this year!

Overall, a lovely day out.  Think it would have been even better if the sun was shining and if I'd chosen more sensible footwear!Next time a guided walk too!

For those considering a trip to Rhosili - wear good footwear so that you can venture out onto Worm's Head or even a walk along the beach - something I wasn't able to to today as didn't quite think it through when choosing todays outfit!
