What a corker of a deal - Day 1 at Bluestone Resort, Wales

I couldn't believe my eyes back in December when I woke up to a Facebook post from Bluestone - the £99 Inclusive deal...  I read with what can only be described as astonishment as to what they were offering:

  • 4 night stay in their 5* accommodation
  • PLUS breakfast for 2 for the full stay
  • PLUS dinner for 2 for the full stay
  • PLUS half a bottle of wine each for the full stay
  • PLUS free entry into the thermal rooms for the full duration

I honestly thought it was too good to be true as I've stayed at Bluestone twice before and would have easily paid £99 for just the accommodation.  I booked anyway and had confirmation of this amazing deal.  And to clarify, it was £99 for the BOTH of us and not a 'per person' price!!! Bargain!

The process for check-in was swift (allowing us to go to our lodge at 4.30pm) and right up to the point when we ordered our first evening meal we were still waiting for a catch - but no catches whatsoever, just more surprises!

Pasta Carbonara

So with this deal, I was waiting for small portions, poor quality food, bad service - but we had quite the opposite - At the Knights Tafern I had a huge portion of Pasta Carbonara & Chicken and the other half had Bangers & Mash... and wait for it.... we were also allowed either a dessert or a starter EACH!

Bangers & Mash
The portions were generous and it tasted delicious.  We were lucky enough to have arrived at the bar before 6pm as lots of people started pilling in - but the atmosphere was still pretty chilled apart from the few kids running around!
Ice Cream Sundae

We didn't mind as we've been on all inclusive/half board holidays abroad before so we would kind of expect it - it certainly didn't spoil it for us.   And of course, I had to have an ice cream sundae (shh, don't tell my personal trainer!!!)  I also have to add that the service was great - really friendly staff, especially from the young northern girl in the Knights Tafern!

Living & Dining Area
Now stuffed - we headed back up the hill to our 2 bedroom Caldey lodge, popped on the heating and had an early night - it was somewhat blustery outside and we were a little warn out from all of the excitement & walking up and down the hills to the village!
Living Area

Have to add at this stage too that the lodge has its own Wifi and it's really good too!  (Anyone who knows my partner & I will know this is important to us!)

Fully equipped kitchen
Watch this space for the next few days at Bluestone and even more surprises!  Including the 6ft Spaniard (which turns out he was Egyptian), takeaways & blue skies!

Double bedroom - the comfiest beds EVER!

Twin room which unfortunately won't be used!

Bathroom/ Wet room!
